Open Positions

Major Gift Officer: Wayzata 

$120,000-140,000, full-time

The Retreat is seeking an experienced Major Gift Officer to drive our philanthropic revenue and deepen our relationships with donors. In close partnership with the President/CEO, the Major Gift Officer’s primary role is to raise $2–$4 million annually in support of scholarships, capital improvements, operations, and periodic capital campaigns, which typically range from $6–$10 million. This leader will nurture our existing donor base, strategically grow our community of supporters, and oversee key elements of our fundraising operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a major gifts program focused on raising $2–$4 million per year through individual, family, and foundation support, and contribute to capital campaigns, as needed, generally ranging from $6–$10 million.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of major donors and prospects; cultivate, solicit, and steward five- and six-figure gifts.
  • Partner closely with the President/CEO on strategy and joint donor meetings.
  • Supervise a full-time fundraising assistant and development/event coordinator, and oversee coordination of development events.
  • Lead and support volunteer Development Committee members in donor identification, cultivation, and ambassadorship.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years of progressive fundraising experience, including at least 3 years in major gifts.
  • Proven record closing significant gifts and contributing to multi-million-dollar annual fundraising and campaign goals.
  • Strong alignment with The Retreat’s mission and heart-felt connection to the Twelve Step recovery community.
  • Experience supervising staff and/or volunteers preferred; excellent communication and relationship-building skills required.

 

Part-time Facilitator: St. Paul Evening Program

$25 per hour, 6 hours per week

The Retreat is seeking a part-time Facilitator to join our Non-Residential Programs team, in the St. Paul Evening Program, Monday & Wednesday evenings. This position is responsible for leading the supportive and educational, small group process for people in early recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. Our average group size is 10-12 women and men. We use the spiritual principles of the twelve steps and the retreat’s Evening Program curriculum as the guide. We are looking for someone with personal experience living the twelve steps and a passion for teaching and supporting the retreat’s abstinence based twelve step model of recovery. Candidates with experience in group facilitation, teaching, training, leading teams and other relevant and transferrable skills are encouraged to apply!

Part-time Facilitator: 55+ Program

$25 per hour, 6 hours per week

The Retreat is seeking a part-time Facilitator to join our Non-Residential Programs team, in the 55+ Program – at our main site in Wayzata, Monday & Wednesday mornings. This position is responsible for leading the supportive and educational, small group process for older adults in early recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. Our average group size is 10-12 women and men. We use the spiritual principles of the twelve steps and the retreat’s 55+ Program curriculum as the guide, addressing topics relevant to older adults such as; grief & loss, forgiveness & aging well and aging & recovery. We are looking for someone with personal experience living the twelve steps and a passion for teaching and supporting the retreat’s abstinence based twelve step model of recovery. Candidates with experience in group facilitation, teaching, training, leading teams and other relevant and transferrable skills are encouraged to apply!
