Recovery Rooted in the Twelve Steps

The Twelve Steps are the foundation of the Men’s Recovery Program at The Retreat, offering a proven framework for personal growth, spiritual grounding, and lifelong sobriety.

Participants actively engage with these principles through:

  • Daily Group Discussions: Explore the Twelve Steps’ practical applications.
  • Workshops and Presentations: Gain insights from experienced facilitators and guest speakers.
  • Community Engagement: Connect with peers and the broader recovery network.
  • AA Literature and Events: Immerse yourself in recovery-focused resources.

By integrating the Twelve Steps into their daily lives, participants create a strong foundation for long-term sobriety and success. This framework has made the program an effective choice for individuals seeking an Addiction Recovery Program for Men or an Alcohol Recovery Program for Men.

A Recovery Program Designed for Men

Men face unique challenges in recovery, including societal expectations, peer pressure, and stigma surrounding addiction. The Men’s Recovery Program at The Retreat addresses these challenges in a supportive and understanding environment tailored specifically to men’s needs.

Key benefits of the program include:

  • A Safe Space: Share openly with peers who understand your experiences.
  • Peer Support: Build lasting bonds with like-minded men.
  • Personal Accountability: Develop the tools to take responsibility for your recovery and life.

The structured daily schedule incorporates:

  • Twelve Step Meetings
  • Workshops and Group Discussions
  • Lectures and Video Presentations
  • Guest Speakers and AA-Approved Events

These activities provide men with the practical skills, routines, and community support needed to thrive in recovery, making this an excellent choice for those seeking a Men’s Addiction Recovery Center or Men’s Alcohol Recovery Program.

Complementary Support for Recovery

At The Retreat, we understand that recovery is a deeply personal journey. While the Men’s Recovery Program at The Retreat is not a substitute for psychotherapy, medical, or clinical treatment, it serves as a complementary resource for individuals seeking a Men’s Recovery Center that focuses on community, spiritual growth, and accountability.

For men utilizing clinical or medical addiction treatment, this program provides an additional layer of support by fostering connections, offering structure, and deepening recovery through the Twelve Steps. This integrated approach helps participants create a comprehensive recovery plan that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.

A Holistic Approach to Men’s Addiction Recovery

The Men’s Recovery Program at The Retreat incorporates a holistic approach to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of recovery. This includes:

  • Mindfulness Practices: Build emotional resilience and self-awareness.
  • Fitness and Wellness Activities: Strengthen the mind-body connection.
  • Workshops and Group Engagement: Foster a sense of community and accountability.

Whether seeking alcohol rehab or drug rehab, transitioning from another program, or starting a recovery journey, the Men’s Recovery Program at The Retreat provides the tools and support men need to thrive.

The Retreat Approach – Men’s Program

Experienced staff and volunteers provide guidance and support to those seeking to establish a solid foundation of recovery grounded in the spiritual principles of Alcoholics Anonymous. The Retreat’s philosophy is simple and straightforward; it relies heavily on an integrated community approach. We introduce people who are motivated for change to those who are living recovery at the highest level, making a life of recovery both attractive and within reach. Our strength comes from our collective wisdom and experience and our success is largely based on our ability to involve the broader recovery community in our mission of helping people recover.

Teaching the essentials of recovery as embodied in the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and providing a strong focus on the basic principles of recovery are hallmarks of The Retreat philosophy. The Retreat creates an environment that promotes emotional and spiritual growth and helps establish a solid connection to the recovery community. Guests share their experience, strength and hope with one another, learning to trust and to understand the true nature of their illness and to take the steps necessary to recover.

Retreat guests discover the importance of practicing the Twelve Step principles of Alcoholics Anonymous in their daily lives and gain a commitment to undergo the personal change so important to recovery. Mentoring and sponsorship deepen this process of change. Staff and volunteers who have walked a similar path share their experience and help guests to take the actions necessary to recover from their alcoholism or chemical dependency.

A Day in the Life

Through daily Twelve Step meetings, lecture and video presentations, group discussions and AA approved literature, guests at The Retreat support one another in exploring the attitudes, behaviors and skills necessary to build a solid foundation for recovery. Guests develop an in depth understanding of the basic principles of recovery as outlined in the Alcoholics Anonymous Text.

    About the Twin Cities

The Retreat is located in one of the most vibrant recovering communities in the country.  The Twin Cities have been a mecca for recovery over 60 years.

Every day there are hundreds of Twelve Step meetings in the Minneapolis – St. Paul area.  The Retreat has harnessed the power of this community by inviting members to share their experience, strength and hope with our guests.  There are over 300 volunteers who actively participate in our continuum of services each month.

Our community based model exposes participants to a larger pool of wisdom than they would find in a more traditional staff based approach.  As guests transition out of the 30-day program they have already established a network of support which is crucial to long term recovery.  They have become a part of something greater and more powerful than themselves.
